From a childhood steeped in sharing Very Important Confidences with her best friend and soaking up endless stories from her chatty grandmother, Sheila Das has long been mesmerized by conversation and the connections it forges. Since then, she has completed her PhD thesis on Rhetoric and Narrative at the University of Toronto (Italian Studies), and has taught courses on empathy, ethics and dissent (Vanier College, Montreal) for over 15 years. Sheila has participated in prison discussion groups, political activism, union mobilization and sat down with all kinds of folks to learn more about how we can sort things out, at a personal and societal level, through talking to one another. She prefers conversations in English, French and Italian, but otherwise will gesticulate with great enthusiasm.
